Typical Project
Carpentry Workshop with 800 m2 Floor Space and Office Wing
Situation
A carpentry workshop in Aarau with 12 employees had an 800 m2 workshop floor and an adjacent office wing. There was no WiFi in the workshop -- digital drawings had to be viewed on the office PC and printed out. The CNC router could only be controlled via USB stick, and there was no camera surveillance despite a valuable machine park.
Solution
Digital Runners installed a UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra, a Switch Pro 24 PoE and 3 U7 Outdoor access points in the workshop (dust-resistant). A U7 Pro covers the office wing. An IoT VLAN connects the CNC router and laser cutter directly to the network. Two G5 Bullet cameras monitor the entrance and workshop floor.
Result
Employees can now open drawings directly on tablets in the workshop. The CNC router receives jobs wirelessly, and the operations manager can monitor the workshop via app. Investment: approximately CHF 4,800.
